I bought Night Terrors yesterday and found that the insectoid creature would make a create opponent in many different types of campaigns. But there is one I thought of first- the monster war. With so many species of intelligent creatures, one would expect that they come into conflict as much or even more than with humanity and its allies. Vampires vs wererats, dragons vs beholders, harpies vs orcs, and such. Of course that is a bit simplified as they could have factions of allied species. Of course the base idea is that humanity is one of the big powers, but what if they weren't? What if they were a terrified remenant of a civilization that fell to greater powers that now attempt dominance over all?
Has anyone here ever run such a setting or something similar?
