No, you haven't Hurt ICE. However, the point is that ICE thinks you're hurting yourselves by making the same mistakes they have made. Several times over. So I think you misunderstand.

The Old ICE did what you, the Mongeese, are doing. They catered to the Frontlist distribution system and tried to maintain the Middle Earth license. The Tolkien Estate then ripped away their license, and it killed the company. The new ICE is not doing that anymore, having learned from their mistakes. They are working on their own IP: Rolemaster, Spacemaster, HARP, and Shadow World. They will not go back to the old distribution model nor will they seek licenses again.

So they don't really think that they will be successful going back to catering to the frontlist and hounding after a license. They are being successful by an alternative method of distribution: namely the backlist. So you aren't hurting ICE at all.

As for anyone else following this discussion, ICE have no knowledge whatsoever of Mongoose's business or distribution models and their opinions are pure speculation.
