A Plane Question?

Thanks Psion, thats exactly what I was looking for!

Is Manual of the Planes 3.0 compatible with 3.5 or is there a lot of converting to be done? We switched over to 3.5 a while back.

thanks for the responses,

Alex

Well, the creatures and the prestige classes would need to be updated. None of the PrCs and only some of the creatures have to be updated. I am not currently using any of the PrCs in my game, but I imagine that the biggest change there would be making the skill lists match. I think only some of the yugoloths have been updated.

I'm not sure if there are any actual changes in the spells between 3.0 and 3.5, but some did appear in the Planar Handbook (which is 3.5). Some of the spells might have been added to more class lists, IIRC.

(Shrug) My primarily use for 3e MotP is an idea mine more than a player resource book.

3e Manual of the Planes was very, very good. It's probably my favorite 3e book thus printed. The Planar Handbook was useful as well.

That said, all the 3e resources on the planes are really just watered down Planescape. If you want more comprehensive details you'll want to check out the 2e resources (Planes of Chaos/Conflict/Law, 'Hellbound: The Blood War', Guide to the Astral, Guide to the Ethereal, Inner Planes, 'Faces of Evil: The Fiends' etc).

They are permeated with an atmosphere of grandeur, scope, and capacity for wonder and mystery that I personally find lacking in material before or since. A lot of the complaints by some folks about the PS 'feel' I find to be simply from lack of exposure to it, and that it changed the planes from big outer planar dungeons to living, dynamic places filled with that sense of infinite wonder.

I delve into my exploration of them in my storyhour, largely focused on the lower planes, which you might enjoy if you're thinking of running a planar campaign :)
