A possible alternative to Petz?

OK, it's installed. Needs quite a bit of figuring out from the admin end, though - I have to create every item, every bot, every attack option, every spell, etc. from scratch, and, not being familiar with the system, it's very hard to know what attributes to give them.

Do they not have some sample attribute lists from people that have run the previous versions?

I am sure you can turn up more than a few beta testers around here :D

And designer types of course.

I would allow people to test it, but there doesn't seem to be a way to set permissions for specific people or groups. I'll need to get that sorted before anyone can play with it, as I won't want it open to everyone.

Let me tell you a story:

One day, this guy called Zappo spends the entire afternoon and most of the evening writing up an Iron DM entry, and then he goes to sleep, looking forward to another 5% increase in his growing overseas bank account.

Then he wakes up and finds out that Petz is gone. What? Do you think I actually have an overseas account? Nope, unless the English Channel counts.

He wonders what's going on for a while, and then bumps into a thread where it looks like Petz is going to be replaced with something like Final-Fantasy-meets-messageboards game.

And he wonders:

"Well, why don't they just send me crack cocaine instead?"

How will I ever get any work done now?!

;) :p

WotC Death Squads will come to your house/job, but instead of chastising you for using house rules, they'll force you to do work. :p

Ah, if only you *were* slaughtered. Then you could start over. As it is, you will have to wait until you can afford to heal up. Wait... and wait... and wait...

It would be nice if there were natural healing in this game. :(

(and no- even if your character is at -12, it won't die. Trust me, I know. :()
