Wait, Unity has 7700+ employees while Epic only has about 2200+...

What is that company doing.
This is the several hundred million dollar question. Given the Unity's development has been extremely slow over the last few years, it doesn't seem like they could possibly really need more than, say 1000 employees. What the rest are doing? A mystery.

Further, they've managed to piss off a whole bunch of huge mobile developers, which is a spectacularly bad idea, given that they're the ones essentially propping up Unity, and they probably have more agility and ability to move away from Unity than most indie developers. I imagine a lot of them will simply re-make their games outside Unity.
