Having only skimmed the latter so far...they look about equal in detail. ECS devotes less attention to NPCs.

With far less regions to worry with, Eberron notes them in greater detail than what I see in the FRCB.

To my mind the ECS geography is more useful and interesting. Picking on area at random (Aundair) it has a capital/ population (inc breakdown), exports and languages block, then 6 paragraphs of general info, then a section on Industries (2 paras), then Life and Society (7 paras), then Government and Politics (3 paras) then Power Groups (6 noted, long para on each), Religion (1 para here), Major Settlements (4, including pop; 11 para in total), Important Sites (4 mentioned, 7 paras), Adventuring in Aundair (7 paras) and Adventure ideas (9 given). This comes to 6 pages in total

This is a fairly typical breakdown. Breland covers the same headings over 10 pages, others run from 2 pages to 8 pages (the bigger nations have more information).
