A question for those of you who have used Mongoose Publishing's Book of Immortals...

In one section of the book it states that immortals on the way through apotheosis cannot gain skill points. Then immediately under this the book states that immortals can gain skill points as they level in mortal classes per standard epic characters. These sound like they counter eah other. What am I missing?

The rules in that book are basically wonky. Ignore the rules and just use the flavour (as you have to do with a lot of Mongoose publications).
