Here's something that I've been pondering for awhile.
My players are just entering a city full of kuo-toa. A good portion of the kuo-toa are classed but most of them are under equipped for their level. For example, in the last skirmish they fought and killed a 10th level kuo-toan fighter.
By the books, it's CR12. But the KT only had a +2 equivalent magic sword, plus a normal shield - which is really about 80,000gp less then what it should have. It's like that throughout the city.
What I'm trying to figure out is how to modify the experience points gained. It's certainly at least 'Significantly less difficult' on the chart. But is it 'Half as difficult'?
Any ideas? Keep in mind that the above case was only one example. There are multiple enemy KT that fit the bill, including spell casters.
thanks,
