A quick D20F question

Hi!
Since a player in my group wants to have Heavy Subcutaneus Armor cyberware in my campaign I was inclined to ask some questions about how to challange that PC (in combat) on another board, but now I would like you to have a look at my vastly overpowered AP bullet homerule:

Armor piercing bullets deluxe: [PL-X]
This is the ultimate in AP rounds. It halves all non dodge or defense bonuses of the Defense of the enemy.
Only effective against armors of PL-X or lower. Further advances in technology cause these rounds to be ineffective to higher PL armor.
Price +5

Opinions?

PS I know its more powerful than the one in Ultramodern Firearms, but with that I couldn't even scratch the body armor of this PC (with a gun...with other weapons I can give a challange to the PC)

To challenge powerful PC it is quite simple I my self let the players do almost anything. I let them have access to the best things even one has an alien artifact. The thing is you got to remember is with all those nice toys come others who want them as well. So don’t attack him with guns hit him with knock out gas or lead him in to a trap by having some one use low level goons that are easy to kill and when he’s not looking spring the trap. I bet there is some type of market out there for used cyber parts. Or present him with a challenge that requires more than good shooting or being able to with stand damage. Mind you don’t do this all the time just every once in a while to let him know he’s not as powerful as he might think. As for the AP round if the enemy has it as well as the players then there should not be too much of a problem. Seeing as to how it effect only armor than those that don’t wear it are no effected. For some ideas about that check out the thread future fun – Includes lots of crunch by Warlord Ralts.

I didn't rule it out. Instead I wanted to find out a creative way to hurt the PC in combat. Here's what I've found:

-Gets hit by a grenade (from grenade launcher or a missle from a missle launcher)
-gets hit by full automatic weapons (these are used by low level thughs who don't have Advanced Firearms ProF.)
-gets burned by a flamethrower (or a special one that deals damage in a 15' cone)
-FX stuff (fireball :) )
-Pepper Spray
-gets run over by a car
-gets run over by a horse/truck/train/...
-gets hit by a piano/safe/piggy bank...
-acid/molotov

2. Or use the Armor as DR from Unearthed Arcana. But warning. This DR shouldn't stack with Fortified Skeleton (or whatever...it gives DR 4)...or else that would be Real powerful.

Yea. Ruled out SubCut armors about ten minutes after opening the book. First time I've seen cyber-armor stack with regular armor. Way too broken.

What about natural armor and normal armor in D&D thay stack?

Same here. I have similar issues with rules for robots, including (but not limited to) PC robots. +10 Defense with no feats and no ACP? Yeah right!

Remember he is a robot and if he is not tring to pass him self off as a human them he looks like one so let the emps fly. If he has +10 armor then he should not look human at all also i make my robot PCs buy there skill web and feat web before they can advance in levels to gain skill points and feats also these can not be used with skill&feat progit and net. as for ability up grades well they get Expensive the more you buy also if hit with a emp it will fry everything anyway and there back to there starting point. but thats the life of a robot. I have a pc right now who had alot of his scores in to 20s or more now he is in a APC robot and has to start all over. So it kind of takes care of its self if you let it they get full of them selves and make Mistakes.

Fortified Skeleton should only provide DR vs Bashing/concussion think of it as the skeleton monster but in Reveres because it provides better resistance against force.

But thats how i handle things let me know if this helps or if you see any holes in my ideas. :)

Sounds a bit like "my GMing style is better than yours" eh? Besides, what level are these players that you can launch missiles at them and still expect them to live?

A robot with a Charisma of 5 and no ranks in Disguise isn't going to care that people know they're a robot. A robot can choose to pass itself off as a living creature, but in many societies this will not be necessary.

Christopher Lambert:

Heck, no way.
I only want to give a challange to the PC in combat.

I was not talking about Missle showers, but without my special AP rounds these were the only ways to hit that PC.

They're 4th level heroes....who just entered into (my own) Mega City One (without Judges...but with crazed cultists who rule that city...don't ask), a complete cyberpunk setting.
