A quick glimpse at PREVIEWS...

I'll post my d20 Previews info next Wednesday, but just glancing through the listings, a couple of items stand out for me:

Mongoose has the next four "Power Classes" books. Alchemist, Cabalist, Fool, and Pirate. Also the Quintessential Gnome finally rears its ugly head. Also, EA: Conjuration, and Slayer's Guide to Derro.

Fantasy Flight has two L&L books. Citycraft and Giant Lore.

There's more, but I'll type it all out next week.. Ciao!

Hmm.. Alchemist, Cabalist, Fool I can understand. Not sure about pirate though.

Q Gnome... finally, the Gnome gets some love! :D

I doubt I'd ever use the Pirate, but I could see it getting a lot of use in certain campaigns. A little like the Gladiator in that respect. In my campaign:

Gladiator = Fighter with specialized combat/weapon training
Pirate = Fighter or rogue with "sea training"

However, were a campaign to be wholly based around gladiatorial arenas or seafaring adventures, then such core classes might make a lot of sense. Saves having to throw a lot of skill points into things that could be made general "class abilities."
