a realistic economic system for medieval fantasy system ?

Let's say I have solved the problem of the balance between wealth and power, making PC wealth irrelevant on a mechanical point of view. Let say that game rules are irrelevant to this topic BTW.

So I'm looking for a semi-realistic economical system, aka, a great table of prices that make sense from an RP point of view (weapons, armors, mount, gears, housing, castle and manor, servant and specialist wages, boats, ore and raw merchandises, gems etc...).

My question is : does something like that exist ? The prices you can find in the 3 and 4th edition of dungeon seems often absurd (except from the sacro-saint game balance point of view, which I don't care about here), so that's not what I'm looking for. Is there another game I should look for ? Or a website ?

If I don't find it, I will have to do it myself, and it will mean a lot of work...

So, if you have some advice about where to look for, I will be pleased to follow them :D

Nice list. Magical Medieval Society: Western Europe also has a section on buying and selling, and, if I remember correctly, price lists, that are also ment to be more "realistic".

If you want to get funky, consider a spreadsheet.

On tab 1, put in everything that can be bought, name, and base price.

on tab 2, put in variables to reflect inflation/supply and demand for base materials like wood, food, metal, and money.

then go back to tab 1 and apply those values (in new columns) to each price, based on it's most obvious material (sword would be metal). Everything would be affected by money (yes, money is a material, from the perspective of inflation).

Then, in game, you can have shortages and such of various materials, changing values on tab 2, getting new prices. Furthermore, by fiddling with the money as material number, you'll be able to raise prices "realistically" when an influx of cash comes around by adventurers.

Or you could just multiply prices by (level/20+1). Basically raise prices as PCs raise level, because of increased cash in the area (they keep scooping it out of dungeons and everybody knows it).
