A superheroic thought

I guess I am needing escapes less and less... I wonder why... I guess just being me and hanging out with the people I like is good. I like them for who they are and I like myself for who I am. (I am not saying people who play RPGs don't like themselves...) I just look forward to seeing the people who are close to me, hanging out, conversing as friends over a game... not as someone else... hmmm.

Well Mark, it has seemed pretty apparent that you have also been growing less and less interested in the genres usually covered by RPGs also. I mean, your largely fruitless search for "good" fantasy and sci-fi books, could be an indicator that as a whole these genres just don't interest you anymore. If you are sick of fantasy, I can only imagine that you would be sick of fantasy RPGs too.

I think this is a good observation. There must be a connection. Though Vince contends that social interaction occurs in rpgs, I would just have to say that it may not be my ideal form of interaction any more. I don't know. I think about playing again, but something inside me holds me back. I'm not sure what it is...
