A wish for a D20 System for real.

D20 is not GURPS and shouldn't be forced into the model.

The reason that DND is #1 is not the system. It is because it gives people what they want in a game.
Modern Games won't do that as well. That is part of the reason they aren't as popular as a genere

I think D20 universal would require so much shoehorning that it would take away from DND and that would not be a good thing

Interestingly enough, over 50% of poll respondents have voted that it would work, with or without difficulties, but virtually everyone who has posted has been negative towards the idea.

Which says to me that if it did occur, most of the people with a strong opinion would be opposed, with the result being a lot of bad publicity.

Obviously this thread is not necessarily indicative of overall market opinions. Nevertheless, some food for thought.
