A Wish List for D&DM figures.

AFGNCAAP

First Post
Well, the thread on goofy figs got me thinking about what I'd seriously like to see released sometime in the future w/ the D&D minis line. So, I figured, why not post my lil' wish list, & see other folks' wish lists as well (and have fun w/ the conversation generated by said topic).

My DDM Wish List:
  • Wulfgar: There's already been Drizzt, Gwen, & Artemis released. Why not other such notable folk of the North? Heck, throw in Bruenor, Catti-Brie, & Regis while you're at it.
  • Jarlaxle: SInce Artemis is now out & about.
  • King Obould Many-Arrows: And for some really sinister FR orc-badness...
  • Fzoul Chembryl: C'mon. Leader of the Zhentarim & the Church of Bane. Not any eviller than that.
  • Szass Tam: Epic undead Red Wizard badness.
  • The Lord of Blades: A personality mini from Eberron would be nice to see. He's the 1st that comes to mind.
  • The Circle of Eight: Since Mordenkainen's out there, why not round out the roster with the rest of the members of the Circle of Eight; heck, add former members like Tenser & Rary, too.
  • Alias: Another classic Realms character. Not much done with her recently (that I know of), but she seems prominent enough. And, make her a common, too (since there's a bunch of clones of her running around as it is). :p
  • Dragonbait:Seems like a natural to release if Alias is out there.
  • Half-Orc arcane spellcasters: I don't think this sort of character has been covered (though the Half-Orc monk feasibly could serve as a stand-in for D&D sessions); while we're at it...
  • Female half-orcs: Don't really recall seeing many of these sorts of characters, either. Would be a nice change.
  • Xvarts: Since they've been brought back in the recent Dragon magazine, why not give these evil lil' Smurflings their own mini?
  • Gem Dragons: Glad to see the chromatics & metallics already released, but I'd really like to see the Gem Dragons see the light of day, too. I know I'd really want to get my hands on a Amethyst Dragon.
  • Yugoloths: Where's the love for Neutral Evil outsiders? I know I'm definitely interested in seeing these guys on the shelf (esp. the ultraloths).
  • Succubi & Erinyes: Do I really have to explain myself on this one? :D
  • WARDUKE: Ever since he saw the light of day (or 3.5, if you will) in an issue of Dungeon, I've REALLY wanted to see a mini of this guy get released.

And, though they may have a snowball's chance in the Elemental Plane of Fire of being made, here's a few others I'd like to see:
  • The rest of the D&D toy line characters: Strongheart, Perelay, Elkhorn, Mercion, Kellek, Zarak, etc. Why not have these oldies-but-goodies come back along with their buddy Warduke?
  • The Forgotten Realms/AD&D Comic characters: These guys are just as memorable/iconic to me as the old D&D toy characters were (and as the current iconics are intended to be).
  • The Baldur's Gate NPCs: Imoen. Jaheira. Xan. Minsc & Boo. Jan Janssen. Viconia. (etc.) It'd be cool to see a tip of the hat to the D&D CRPGs this way. Heck, how about the PCs from the Dark Alliance console games as well? Or the Neverwinter Nights NPCs (Aribeth, Linu, Daelan, Sharwyn, Tomi, Boddyknock, Grimgnaw, Deekin!) for that matter?
  • Mobile magic items: A dancing sword. An Apparatus of Kwalish. A magic carpet (which PC minis can fit on). A Chariot of Sustarre. Figurines of Wondrous Power. A Stone Horse. Magic which can make its own move in its own right (and which would negate the use of goofy minis like bottle caps & dice to substiture for them).
  • Aleena, Bargle, & the fighter: These characters from the solo Basic Red Box adventure stick out in my mind clearly--I've recycled them in I-don't-know-how-many campaigns in 1 variety or another.

Heck, if not released in the mix with the regular DDM line, how about limited edition Boxed Sets of the characters (sorta like in the old days w/ the leads, but DDM line items instead) or have 1 sculpt in the DDM line boosters, & another set of different sculpts of the same characters in the limited-edition, limited release line (for those folks who REALLY want minis of those characters; understandably, these sets would be a bit more price than stuff from the standard line).

Well, that's my wish list. Hopefully someone behind the scenes at WotC reads this & gets just as excited about these ideas as I am. ;)

What about yours?

I concur with the Warduke one and the mobile magic items one is a nifty idea. Maybe even could include larger artifacts like the Machine of Lum the Mad or the Mighty Servant of Leuk-O.

Another vote for Warduke.

I think it would be cool if they did matured (read older, not R rated) versions of the characters form the old D&D cartoon show.

I'll second the Baldur's Gate characters, and raise you the Neverwinter Nights ones. :)
I'll also second the cartoon characters suggestion, but want to see Venger, DM, and a bunch of other auxillary characters included.
But I'd REALLY love to see a Half-Celestial figure, preferably modelled on Ben Affleck from the end of the movie "Dogma". I never can find a figure for one of my favorite PCs, a Paladin of Me named Sandelphon. :)

Which? The one with the wings machine-gunned off, or the exploded-head one? :)

I agree with Warduke. I'd really like to see Scyllua Darkhope, a few characters from the War of the Spider Queen books, the Simbul, and maybe Sarya Dlardrageth.

I must admit, none of my wish lish figures are specific characters. I'd approach it from a more practical standpoint.

My first wishlist would be to fill in all the race/class combinations. If I need a straightforward dwarf rogue, I want a figure named that. I wouldn't necessarily need both a half-elf and elf variation, but fill the functional roles first.

My second list would be to fill in the "often used monsters" roles. When the Monster Manual is done (at least as far as tiny/small/medium/large figures) that will be a major hurdle to have cleared.

I will second this. It would be nice to have a Bag o' Orcs or Bag o' Halflings, or even Military Units with consistent uniforms/outfits.

Hummm....

Wulfgar and the other FR characters sound good.

I would like to see some Darksun goodness also- Sadira, Rikus, Neeva, Tithian, Agis and perhaps Aspects of Dragon-kings!

Other goodies-

I'm seeing more templated creatures which is good. Bring them on. How about some freewill skeletal warriors? Skeleton Champion?

Eberron- Lord of Blades is a must. Blackflame is a must. The warforged Psion would be cool.

The totemist from Incarnum would be cool. Wiz kids is getting really good using colored clear plastic. Use those for the arms....yeah.

More water - themed would be good.

Thri-kreeen that are NOT rare.
