A Writer Glowing With Pride

It's funny how often this is happening to writers. A number of months ago, the good people at Bastion thought I was writing Into the Blue for them!

Hope you noticed the post from Sernett in the thread where you first posted about this, apologising, and promising that it wouldn't happen in the actual article.

No I didn't. Thank you very much for the information. I'll E-Mail him and explain that I missed it. Thank you!

:) I've been there. For whatever reason, half the books I've written get credited to the cover artist when they're solicited on Amazon, or to the editor on the ordering system at Waldenbooks.

I just sort of laugh at it now, but it used to bother me something fierce.

Is this your first work in print?

Actually, I have several beasties in Creature Collection III (The Piper & Wendigo) which was very cool. But this is the first time my name is actually right on something I wrote.

Olive:
Can you direct me back to that thread? My swiss cheese memory can't recall what it was called, and I'd love to see it.
Thank you again (very much).

Congratulations to both of you on your recent publishing success!

Oh, and I love the punny "glowing pains" disease. I'd certainly be interested in seeing what all got cut out, if you feel like posting them.

As for name mistakes and what-not, they're not all that unusual (especially if your name is spelled in a nonconformist way like mine is). I've been credited as "Jonathan," "Johnathon," "Jonhathan," and even "Joseph" once! (Which is ironic, as I have a brother named Joseph.) I also once had a "Dragon's Bestiary" written by someone else attributed to me on the Table of Contents page in Dragon. It happens, and it's never fun, but at least the editors usually acknowledge their mistake and try to make sure it doesn't happen again.
