A1- Lost Knowledge of Arcanix(Wik Judging)

Shrugging nonchalantly, returning his gaze to the fore, looking straight ahead and standing at attention, waiting for Grey's answer, Wulfcyne's scar of a mouth spits a simple retort, 'Earn my silence.'

He smiles" So much greed these days. The prize is to be 800 gp or a magic wand or free access to the library's spellbooks and inks. Your choice.
"Sir, you misunderstand. I simply wish to learn now so we are not taken advantage of later. Your offer is very generous."

" 800 golden galifars, apiece? " asks Makharat menacingly.

Intimidate: 1d20+5=18
"Show some respect," Koh'Tara scolds Makharat. "But he does have a good question sir. I simply assumed." Koh'Tara asks the professor.

The old scholar looks nervously at Makharat for a moment then collects himself, peers over his half-moon spectacles. His splotched robes lean back as his robe fall back on his shoulders and his eyes flareup and rips the key out of your hands.
" I am sorry, perhaps I misjudged your character. Here at Arcanix University we never ever give in to those sort of tactics. You may leave, you will be reimbursed for your trip home ,but intimidation tactics like that prove you are not trustworthy and I can therefore not let you in the vaults. I hope this does not inconvenience the rest of you too much. And yes it is 800 gold pieces a piece.

He takes the key back and begins chanting a new one.

The warrior's mouth drops, totally surprised by Grey's pronouncement. Quickly recovering, Wulfcyne's brows knit in concern as closes his mouth tight and continues to look straight ahead at the back wall of the cluttered office, attempting to catch a glimpse of any titles of books in the place, trying to glean a clue to the Dean's area of speciality.

The books on his walls seem to be mostly abjuration based. Most prominently, 1001 uses for hold portal, Prismatic Wall: 7 layers of protection, 1000 layers of comfort, Shield the mage's best friends,Ancient Goblinoid Security systems.

He seems especially fond of wall spells, judging by the fact that it seems as though the room itself is made of a wall of force now that you take a closer look. He also seems to have a recent dabbling in extraplanar dimensions judging by a few of his newer looking books being on that subject.

Smiling grimly, Makharat says, " I would think again, for only in employment may I be trusted. Discharged and dismissed I then tend to get... vindictive. "

Dean Grey looks at Makharat You should have thought about that before you made overtures of a threat at me. I mean honestly, what are you going to do kill me? That is a highly ineffective way of dealing with me as I will just come back. You, however, will simply cease to be the second security forces appear and I can personally garuntee that if, by some miracle, you make it out alive, the magical securities of this place that I personally oversee. Is that perfectly clear? Now GET OUT!!

" Oh yes, you in southern lands are very wise and noble, as many are want to tell me, " growls Makharat. " Every threat I make is a threat of death, no? Except it is not. What threat I make is that I should seek employment with those in House Cannith and House Kundarrak that would seek to betray you and take the information for themselves. Or had my more honest and trustworthy companions failed to mention the small detail that we were interrupted on our journey here? "

He hesitates just a moment to hear the reply as he turns to leave...

He seems shocked then he chuckle" Kundarak ay... Heh I am sorry but this makes me quite happy. Kundarak must have been unable to crack my abjuration that does indeed make me happy. This research that has gone missing is highly important but to be truthfully I havent the time to find it myself and I fear we may have been infiltrated with spies or worse. It does not surprise me that such things have happened. But I whole heartedly do expect you to find the research on the premises and not leave here with it. Very courageous of you, though I am amazed it took until I nearly kicked you out of here for you to let it out. I will simply check your story with your companions.

He begins casting a spell and then says " So is he tellingthe truth. Are agents of House Cannith and Kundarak trying to bribe you?

"Indeed, and the more I learn of this man here, the less I trust of him," Koh'Tara says. "We had felt it best to simply not mention them, and, if I may speak for the rest of us here, we had no intention of partaking in any of these offers."

OOC: Sorry Kaodi, but Koh'Tara almost didn't come along simply because she doesn't trust Makharat. He's not made a good impression on her thus far.
