I don't think that's right. Deva is a Hindu word, isn't it?I don't like it purely based on the fact that "deva" is waaaa(...)aaaay too similar to "devil" (being the origin of the word "devil" IRL).

According to Wikipedia (which isn't always right, of course), deva is a cognate of the latin deus, which, in turn, is the origin of divine and deity.I don't think that's right. Deva is a Hindu word, isn't it?
Wikipedia also says this: (From Sanskrit देव (devá), “‘deity, god’”).According to Wikipedia (which isn't always right, of course), deva is a cognate of the latin deus, which, in turn, is the origin of divine and deity.
Since most of the western languages have Indo-European origins, it's perfectly right.I don't think that's right. Deva is a Hindu word, isn't it?
German.How do you get "hoar" from "height"?
Cheers, LT.
Uhm... sorry to nitpick, but there is no word like "hoar" in German. The word for "high" is "hoch" and for "heights" is "Höhen"!German.

Deva -> Devil
Daemon -> Demon
etc.
Interesting. I am looking for your quote from the book, but I can't find it. Which article was this from?I wonder if they'll continue to be like Aasimar fluff wise, or if they'll be hit over the head with the EMOGOTH stick like Tieflings were. After all, in one of the more headache inducing articles on Races and Classes, it was mentioned that "Good guys are lame, rebellious teenagers are AWESOME, lets shove more crappy angst into this system."

Or is this a quote, that actually isn't a quote?
