Aasimar/Celestial race question

Here's what we know about the angels that have been presented:

They're not all good.
They're elemental-based.

Given this, what would aasimar look like and behave like? Would Aasimar be assumed "Good"? And for that matter, would they be element related?

Huh? Where did we hear about Angels being elemental-based? Don't confuse them with 4th edition Archons, who are transformed elemental creatures turned into elemental cyborg warriors.
Angels on the other hand are, according to Worlds & Monsters (so, possibly outdated, but Idoubt it that much) simply humanoid robots with divine powers in them.
Angels are going to get an excerpt at Monday.

Hm. I thought those were the angels. Looking back over Worlds and Monsters...

Not so much. They're not robots, just... heartless. The same way that Fey are heartless; they are their nature, their purpose, and little room for emotion. They're as much a robot as an animal is.

But given this, since you have Angels of Death, Battle, Protection, etc, and all deities have them... what does that say for the Aasimar?

*Shifty eyes* They are Nephilim *Shifty eyes*

But seriously, I am hoping on Monday they will give some references to Aasimar or whatever they will be called in 4e. I am thinking they'll probably go the route of being indepedent beings who have a focus towards the Divine and Astral, like Elves with Primal and Forests in their fluff.

That's very intriguing.

What's funny is that Aasimar were the "Good guys" to Tiefling's "Badguys". But it seems in 4e, the tiefling isn't a "bad guy". So having a "Good guy" isn't as necessary as having a "Guy on the other side of the hereditary field".

For that matter, Tieflings are simply because humans got tied up with devils, and it looks like it polluted their genes, so to speak. It may have nothing to do with the birds and the bees, and everything to do with "evil tainted them".

Having Aasimar who are just as likely to be evil (due to whatever angel they may have made allegiance to) as tieflings would be fun.

Yeah I think at the most, there will be a slight fluff push of "if your Angel parent is from a good God you should probably think about reflecting that" but by the same token, the opposite is true if the Angel's God was evil.

What, I am most interested in seeing is when/if they do a full PHB write-up for it, whether or not racial feats will be generic or reflect each God.
