Ability damage/drain and enhancement

I would rule inherent bonuses from Wish and the like to count towards how much ability score damage you can take. It only seems logical... it's not something that you can take off or remove, that's why it's inherent.

Yes, thanks! Anyway, what do you think about inherent bonuses, I mean, it is kind of permanent... and behaves a lot different than any other magical boost, would Wish be maed into ability drain or the character would drop even though he ahs a +6 inherent bonus?

I'll emphasize the following from the FAQ: "Apply ability score losses to the victim’s total score, no matter where the score came from."

'Cannot ever' are maybe a little too strong a wording remember there are Epic rules :)
Look at my SIG; I'm quite familiar with Epic rules, thanks. And in light of those epic rules, I will say again ... you cannot EVER have an inherent bonus greater than +5. Even Epic spells are incapable of producing an inherent bonus of +6 or more. (Specifically, the Fortify seed can produce an Inherent bonus of up to +5, and not one teeny bit more.)

Well, whether the limit is +6 or +5 it changes things little, although I appreciate the correction. And the answer goes directly to the point I thought, so what about a permanent enhancement bonus, that is, made permanent by a spell?

I think only inherent bonuses are an actual part of the stat and thus, the only ones that are counted for the ability damage.

I've always considered the inherent bonus from the artifacts in ELH to stack with other inherent bonuses, but maybe that's not totally right by the rules. I will continue to HR it that way none-the-less. Also because it only an extra +1, to a total of +6. Not a big deal really.
