There are two things that I do not like about ability score improvement change as written in the PHB.
So this is a very simple fix to those stated issues. If these are not issues for you then you do not need to worry play per RAW.
The rule: There is no +2 stat boost, it must be +1/+1 to two stats.

- The cap this is an artificial limiter and to me it makes more sense to not have it there and simply make it difficult to get a 20 and extremely difficult to get over a 20.
- PCs can get to 20 to easy and quickly to the point where there is no variance on PCs prime stat. They will likely have a 20 and that is it (maybe an 18 or 19...).
