Probably because the Type IV-VI demons were named "Nalfeshnee, etc.", "Marilith, etc." and "Balor, etc." in the 1e MM1. The 2e designers probably figured that, to keep it simple, they'd go with the first name in the series rather than making the Type IV Maelfesh, the Type V [insert name here], and the Type VI Errtu. Also, "Balor" is the closest in the list to the demon's inspiration...rossik said:thanks guys, that was very helpfull!
