I know that most forms of profanity isn't allowed here or at least frowned upon, but I was wondering if it would be allowed in a Story Hour? The setting is a fairly realistic future setting (is that a contridiction in terms) and since most people swear I was wondering if I could include it in my Story Hour? Perhaps with a tag in the title warning people of profane language or putting *'s in place of the middle letters of the word?

Thx in advance.

Tata.

I think the problem is that, apart from the fact that there may be some youngsters, the boards have a profanity filter which I don't think can be turned off for one thread.

There's always the simple expedient of saying something like "Tordek cursed". You don't have ot be explicit to get the point across.

If it's a descriptive part, I could work around the cursing like you say, but if it is actually something the player said then I would be hard-pressed to change what happened. All I'm really asking if a profanity tag in the title or bleeping out some letters in the word is enough to make it allowed.

If the language would offend Morus's grandmother, then don't use it. Disguising it by eliminating one letter would probably still offend her, you know?

I would substitute another word. Frikking crap!;)

Nope. Sorry, but please don't try to outwit the profanity filter. There isn't any special exemption for story hours. I do a lot of self-editing, myself.

Just great, now we have two grandmother's looking at the boards. We'll never get away with anything now.

They've been trying to bring PC's grandmother along, but she won't have any of it. Kept on muttering about "the youth of today". In the end, they left her to her tea and cakes.
