About the bear worrior

I would like to ask something about the bear worrior (prestige class , Complete Worrior). When he turns into a bear can he make use of the feats : power attack and reckless rage?
Also can he use his weapon as a barbarian or must he use the claws he gains?

He can use feat normally allowed by raging, so Power Attack & Recklass Rage are OK.

But he cannot use manufactored weapons in bear form since you are practically polymorphed into a bear. One would say you would need the ability for fine manipulation to wield a weapon which the claws of a natural bear does not have. This of course if a manner of opinion (& common sense) so ask your DM what he thinks and abide by his ruling.

Feats yes, but weapons would be hard due to hands lose opposable thumb. Bear warriors don't become Pandas so I doubt you could.

So claws/bite make sense.

As i was thinking ways of boosting the bear warrior i thought the following : The prestige class War Shaper (from complete warrior) says that it grants you some benefits on the other form but in order to take this prestige your character must be able to transform to another form. So can a bear warrior enter this prestige class ?

While I'm no D&D expert, I've been a fan of warshaper since I saw it. And possession of the ability to transform into an alternate form is the requirement.

Wildshaping, polymorph, Lycanthropy, Changling Alter Self, Doppleganger, etc...

Any of those enable access to the Warshaper on those grounds, to my understanding. Of course, you'd need the BAB and other requirements as well.

As long as you have BAB +4, a bear warrior can gain access to the Warshaper PrC. Bear Warrior is actually used as an example under point #5.

So if i can have reckless rage in bear form and this stacks with the warshaper's bonuses can i also take a frenzy bersesker lvl so that i have a str score of 40 ?
