where else but here?

noone from ford has ever cared about my opinion, and i have owned 7 ford pickups. i sometimes have trouble getting ahold of my lawyer and my realtor is difficult to find.

then i come here.

i can chat with chris and veander and the guys who wrote campaign suite, and they pay attention to what i say and help me out.

mark, from creative mountain games, asks for direct feedback about his latest release.

i can recommend 'tournaments, fairs and taverns' in a thread to find out (emberassingly) that i have just recommended it to the author.

AND i can take my questions about history and motivations of the game to e.g.g. himself.

i can enjoy mocking thg hals mystic eye games logo WITH him.

in the art world, things are somewhat like this, excellent artists are frequently available for tech help and support when needed. but no other part of my life comes close to complete and total support like gaming and enworld.

it is amazing, and it makes me proud to be a part of this vibrant, goofy, self-referential, supportitive and caring community.

if that sounds to goofy, well, ford coulda had this praise if they would have given me decent feedback on suspension problems with my 68 f250......

I second everything alsih2o says, with particular reference to excellent moderation and ease of use.

And of course, and certain amount of complementary backslapping to all the excellent (and even the non excellent ;) ) people that post here!

Cheers!

That's funny. So did you convince him to get it? ;)

The interaction with authors is great here. I've talked about products with the authors themselves. Heck, I said I was going to review some of Fantasy Flight Games stuff, and Wil Upchurch himself piped into to one of the threads asking where the review was.

Ya, the site rocks. :D

The important question, though, is this: have you tried asking Gary Gygax about the suspension problems with your 68 F250? The results would be telling indeed!

I just responded to another thread about customer service and tried to make a similar point.

Having the people who have created this hobby so accessible is fantastic.
Having so many hobbyists in one place to bounce ideas off of is fantastic.

Not owning a Ford f250 with suspension problems is fantastic

You made fun of the "Eye"!!!!!!!! Where? LOL
I am a true gamer and love these boards as a fan of the game as well as some one who happens to work in the business, I was just saying the same thing to Jm Butler of Bastion (whom I call friend) stating it is weird that I can call people like him when just a few years ago if I did I would have been charged with stalking.
This is an unusual business where I have enjoyed talks/meals with a lot of "names" and all I can say is everyone I meet I think is cool! That is saying a lot about your "competition". As a side note wait for T,F,T in print from us in Jan/Feb 2003---it is cool!

ENWorld (then Eric Noah's pages) brought me back to RPG some years ago. It has given me thousands of hours of enjoyment, a handful of good friends, wonderful story hours, the oportunity to speak with the creators of my favorite game, a whole hivemind and lots of good moments. Yes, it's wonderful.
