Pathfinder 1E Acid and Earth - should they break up?

This is tangential but I had this idea of a high level wizard spell (maybe even epic) a long time ago called "Counterstroke" . The idea was that since Lightning actually has two stages, the bolt from air to earth and also from earth to air, it would be basically a lightning attack that could target anyone on the surface of the planet.

Never liked it personally; I always thought acid and water had a much more obvious connection. (Water is the element associated with change and dissolution, acid is usually portrayed as a liquid.)

1) Chemically speaking, acid happens at the intersection of earth and water - where earth compounds split up water molecules. But then, a chemical burn creates heat, and battery acids create electricity...making acid the red-headed stepchild of many elements.

2) The gods chose the element relationships. Not us. Question them at your own risk.
