[AD&D 2e] Dark Sun Game over Skype

Okay, so this post is a continuation of my previous post, but we need 1-3 more players for our AD&D 2e Dark Sun game we're forming. We'll be using Skype Group Video (video if technology is willing), and that's it. Everything else is analog: books, dice, roleplaying. If you can't play without minis or a VTT, please look elsewhere. As I mentioned in the previous post, this is very much how I played 2nd Ed back in the nineties as a kid, and this is how we'll play this game now.

That said, there's also a good chance this game will be recorded and posted on my YouTube channel (or a podcast). If the video is recorded, I know some people take issue with having their faces shown. If that is the case, send me a picture of what your character would look like and I will overlay it over your video feed, so only your voice is on the vids.

Other, than that, we have a Human Fighter, Human Cleric, and a Druid (not sure on race yet), so the door is open for anything else someone wants to play. PM me if you are interested.

As a note, I can't arrive for today's session (if there is one.) I didn't expect to be waylaid an extra three days with this moving business.

I'd love to get a chance to play a 2nd edition game. I sent a PM asking what time the games were expected to run.

I also thought I'd ask if everyone is starting off at 1st level and if you can give any of the backstory on what will bring the characters together. It could help come up with the right persona to fit in with whatever cause they need to take up.

I think the games are Thursdays, Central Time 6 PM up until midnight at the latest. Everyone is first level.

That said, if you still want to reroll them (Roll 5d4 12 times and assign the highest 6 scores where desired), you're welcome to. I know Verdigris will have reroll his stats as well. Also we won't be starting until next Thursday, as I'm still getting things ready.

As far as backstory, we'll be starting off in Tyr. Where you are in life will be up to you (you live there, you've just arrived from afar, etc). And this is the revised Dark Sun setting as well (Kalak is dead).

Also guys, Dark Sun characters start off at level 3, btw.

I'm not sure the time would work out. My son has swim practice in the evening, so I'd have to leave by about 9 PM central time. I'm not sure it'd help the party much to have a player who missed the end of each session.

Do you have an iToy/Android/[Some other kind of smartphone]? There's a Skype app for such device.

Otherwise I can set up Skype to call your phone, I believe it's an optional service. You wouldn't be able to roll dice (unless you have a dice roller on your phone), but could at least take part in the roleplaying.

The parents often have to help out at the pool, so that wouldn't work. I'll check in with you after swim season is over and see if you still need a player.

Well.. it sucks to do this again....but I have to cancel this idea. Too many people canceling, plus having a hard time getting back into the 2e framework (and coming up with any decent semblance of a story). Anyway, I'll try to come up with something in place of this day with a newer system. Sorry to let everyone down guys.
