AD&D 2nd Ed Lasso

Usually, I post 3.5 questions/answers, but yesterday I played again in my 'approximately once a year' AD&D campaign, and this came up:

The rogue has, as one of it's allowed weapon proficiencies, the lasso.
However, the lasso appears nowhere else in the books! I liked the idea of a lasso because it stands out as a weapon, and took a weapon proficiency in it, but now can't find any rules of how to deal with it!
We went with some DM on the spot rules, but if there is any rule on lasso's for AD&D out there, I'd like to know.

Have you looked in the Complete Fighter's HB ? Or Combat & Tactics? Or perhaps in't in the non-weapon proficiency section under Rope Use ?

The 1st ed lasso is in the Unearth Arcana, I think, and I'm pretty sure the 2nd ed lasso is in the Warrior's Handbook.

I still find it strange that the lasso is mentioned in the PH entry of the rogue, but not in the weapons section.....
