Ad error in this month's Dragon?

Dragon is all PDF/X1 workflow -- which means that all the ads have to be checked out as meeting the PDF/X1 file format standard, which among other things includes all fonts embedded. It must be that someone at the printer switched something that somehow substituted fonts...or maybe they overran their memory allocation or something weird like that which didn't allow more fonts do go into the RIP, or...? In any case, it's a pretty baffling error -- but not one that I would lay at the feet of the XCrawl guys (who appear to have a really cool idea on their hands).

Re: Don't Judge XCrawl by that Ad

Don't judge Xcrawl by that ad. The ad looked fine on the proof that we saw in the office, there was just some kind of production glitch at the printers that screwed up the font. We're making things right with the XCrawl folks by giving them some free ad space (with legible type even), and we've flogged the printers.

What in the nine hells where they letting the printers think on pages 71- 77 the side bar stuff is kind of hard to read. its fine near the top but after that it blends into that ugly background and becomes hard to read.
