I don't know whether coulda woulda shouldas help, but D20 Filtered would have definitely checked this one out if it was released.

Fantasy Flight Games has Darkness & Dread out already, but it's not really Elizabethan or Victorian in flavor.

I've been waiting for a game that would allow me to run a combo of Solomon Kane, John Dee, Drake and other characters, fictional and non, in their proper setting.
If circumstances change and this does become a viable project again, count me in as a buyer.
