[Adamant Entertainment] UnderWorld is back!

GMSkarka

In 1999, game designer Gareth-Michael Skarka brought gamers behind the scenes to witness the creation of an RPG from inspiration through design and into production, via a popular column at RPGnet.
The game, UnderWorld, was published by Synister Creative Systems and released at GenCon 2000, to critical acclaim. It quickly sold out of its entire print run.
Now, for the first time in nearly four years, the Adventure Game of Subterranean Fantasy has returned.

Down below the streets of New York City, there exists a world of wonder and adventure, unseen by those above. Magic courses like blood through veins made from steel tracks and transformers. The UnderWorld is home to the Homeless, to the Freaks, to the Junkmen and more. Steely-eyed Bravos hunt their prey in dark tunnels far below the subways, while brave Taggers scout new paths between the varied Domains, and mark trails for all to follow. Creatures of Legend walk the platforms below the city, and brilliant Artificers build inventions of bizarre science, borne of madness.

This is a world of heroes and villains...

of magic and romance...

of gods and monsters.

Unseen. Unknown. Unforgettable.

UnderWorld

UnderWorld is an adventure game, usable for either table-top or live-action play. All you need are the guidelines presented in this book, and a handful of coins.

Sounds incredibly like Neil Gaiman's NEVERWHERE, but in NYC instead of London (though in Neverwhere they make reference to a New York Below as well).

Good thing is I LOVE Neverwhere, so this sounds great! Congrats on bringing it back.

:D

Yeah, I went over this back in '99. Neverwhere was one of the original inspirations, along with TV's Beauty & The Beast, Lisa Goldstein's Dark Cities Underground and the Christopher Lambert film Subway, among others.

Any chance you'll be d20-ing it? ;)

Nope. The character types wouldn't balance very well if I tried to cram them in to the D20 rules-set.

Still, I'm sure people could use it for a campaign setting, just on the info provided.
