[Adamant Entertainment] Villainomicon: Preference?

We're prepping the release of The Villainomicon, Adamant Entertainment's collection of super-villains for use with Green Ronin's Mutants & Masterminds.... and I had a thought:

Originally, we had planned on releasing it as a PDF and a print-on-demand book, but then I had another idea. My biggest problem (as a GM), is when I buy a book of villains (or monsters, or what-have-you), and only find a handful that are useful for my particular campaign.

Given that, I'm considering releasing the villains in PDF individually, allowing GMs to pick the ones best-suited for their needs. Each villain is fully statted and illustrated, with a full write-up featuring role-playing notes and several featured adventure hooks. We'd sell them for $1 each, and release them weekly. We'd offer a subscription for interested GMs for a full year's releases (at a discount), and at the end of the year, assemble the villains for the print-on-demand book as originally planned (available at a significant discount for subscribers).

Which method would you prefer? Single release, or year-long series? We're looking for gamers opinions on this one.

I am not a M&M player/customer, but I have to say the individual plan sounds really cool.

(I would have bought, say, GR's Advanced Bestiary in such a format.)

Great Name!

I would like to see them released one-a-week with a teaser adventure hook that would allow an introduction to the next one. Kinda like DC Comics Tangent Line.

Why choose?

Release them as individual PDFs and then release a compilation PDF/POD book of all of them together in one place. Customers can then choose the format they like best. This seemed to work for the Behind the Spells series.

Based on the responses we've gotten (here, elsewhere and e-mail), we'll be sticking with the single book plan, rather than the single-villain weekly releases.

Look for The Villainomicon available in PDF and print next week!

Well I will definately be picking this up!
Thanks!

I'd prefer a single book. Usually, the only time I will use a pregen is if I am REALLY desperate for time and/or ideas, and being able to flip through a book for inspiration, or to find some stats I can file the serial numbers off of, is a great help. To buy a single pre-made villain, I'd need to know in advance I will need him, and that rarely/never happens for me.

Other GMs may differ, of course.
