Addicted to Crack [D&D Minis]

First Post
OK, so I admit it, I'm a crack addict. By crack, I mean the new D&D collectible minis. Last night, I got $20 for my birthday, and I couldn't wait to buy two packs. But alas, I live in Seattle's Eastside, and I couldn't find any expansion packs to save my life.

You see, Wizards had game stores all around, two near where I live. But now Wizards is going out of business and all their expansion packs are long gone. Also long gone are all the mom-n-pop game stores that Wizards drove out of business.

There is a Games Workshop store and a WizKids store, but where can I get my addiction filled. Desperate, I tried Borders, but they only had the lame-o starter packs that Wizards can't sell at 30% off.

So two questions:

1. Where in the Eastside of Seattle can you get D&D minis? I mean, come on, this is WotC's back yard. (And don't send me to the internet, 'cause when your addicted you cannot wait.)

2. What is the state of game stores in your area? Is it as pathetic as here?

I have no idea if you have them in Seattle, but I know that Barnes & Noble carries the minis. Usually in display stand near the SF/Fantasy/RPG section.

When they first came out, I went looking for them all over (being sold out at all the game stores) and accidently stumbled on them there.

Not as bad as the Card Board Crack that is Magic: the Addiction. Watch your bank account drain away to nothingness ;)

I haven't been impressed with the minis myself. I prefer to paint my own. I do like the idea of getting them for monsters, but I don't like the whole "random" aspect of it. I'd prefer to buy what I want and pay a little more for "special" or "rare" model. M:TA killed my interest in "random" or "collectable" games.

I know that the WizKids store carries the DnD minis, however the only time I've been there looking for them they've been sold out, which leads me to believe that they're not keen on stocking up on massive amounts of their prime competitor.

There's also Gary's Games on Greenwood and 85th, but they sell out -really- quickly. So in summary both places carry them, but you've got to practically go on the day they get the shipments in. All-in-all, I too, have been wondering where I can get my fix in Seattle.

There are plenty of good game stores in the SF Bay Area; it's no trouble to find Harbinger, but Dragoneye is a bit tougher. I have only found one place which sells singles; they have a stock of about 10. :-/ The Wizards Stores are sold out, though if you ask they will talk vaguely about "new shipments from the warehouse."

I am trying to get a feel for the future of the game; none of the game-store owners around here seem excited about it. I hope it is doing well, but I am not getting a postive vibe; other than the fact that it is hard to find. (You'd think that would indicate interest by consumers, but it doesn't seem like anyone stocked a lot in the first place. Ie, "Do you have Dragoneye?" "No, we ordered 10 and some guy bought them all last week.")

Just wait for Archfiends to come out, then Dragoneye will be a lot more available :)

I keep buying them over and over trying to get dire apes. I need them for my Runethane!
