What do I add my half level to exactly? I am curious and can't find specification in the PHB, if someone could answer me here, or give me a page #, I'd be extremely grateful! Thanks!

All defenses (AC, Reflex, Fortitude, Will) and essentially all d20 rolls (except for saving throws)

Attack rolls, Skill Checks, Ability Checks, Initiative Rolls.

You may find it helpful to look at the Step by Step section on Gaining Levels in the PH pg 27-28. It is a really helpful walk through that pulls everything togeather.
