AdnD 2E Darksun: Which adventures should I get?

You know, I heard good things about Forest Maker - someone I know said it was their favourite DS adventure, and one of their favourite adventures ever. I've never played it, or read it, but I trust what this guy says. Though the idea of an adventure based around a pristine forest (even if it is sinister) just never felt "right" to me.

You mean like how a half-breed kid can kill the Dragon, an incredibly powerful creature that has lived for eons?

Get Real.

The first couple of Denning's books were ok but they really went downhill fast. Most of the other novels were equally awful...especially the Hawke(?) ones with the Munchkin kid and his sabre-toothed tiger.

On the other hand, you should get all of the Lynn Abbey books (which revolve around Urik), which are some of the finest pieces of gaming fiction I've ever read. They show how Athas is a broken land, inhabited by broken people... and it manages to show one of the socerer-kings in a somehwat sympathetic light without making him any less of a ruthless tyrant.
