Advanced Extraordinary Abilities

If I'm advancing a monster, What is the DC for it's extraordinary abilities, if the HD have gone up.

Say I have a Troglodyte druid 7, con 18. Do I set the DC equal to

10 + (7/2) + 4? = 17

Or just 10 +4? = 14

It says explictly that Su abilities add 1/2 the hd as a bonus, but what about Ex?

I don't believe that class hit dice count toward abilities like this.

Your DC is therefore 15: Base 10 + 1 (1/2 of the Trog's 2 racial HD) + 4 (the Trog's Con modifier) = 15.

The Dc would go up if you were able to advance the Trog's racial hit dice, or if you were ablet o increase the Trog's Constitution. Unfortunately, Trogs don't advance hit dice, except by class.

Another option would be for your Trog to take the Ability Focus feat, adding 2 to the stench DC.

Advancing trogs by HD would not be that bad. I remember advancing some trogs by HD on a post IIRC that got lost in the server crash.

Some meatier trogs... http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/mm/20031018a
