Mob United Media is looking for setting proposals for its flagship OGL system, Advanced Quick20.
I am looking for a writer capable of providing a ready to use game setting in 10,000 words. The ideal author has previous, for-pay experience in the tabletop RPG field, is familiar with Advanced Quick20 and will present a setting with the following attributes:
* The setting will feature new rules content consistent with AQ20's design aesthetic.
* The setting will feature supernatural elements, at least some of which are powers accessible to starting characters. These will have a compelling narrative justification.
* The setting will feature new Templates.
* The setting is set in the modern day (or a stylistic equivalent) and supports and *justifies* near-fantastic elements of the modern action genre.
* The setting will have interesting, developed antagonists and a default story/adventure type.
* The setting will utilize the following elements of the AQ20 rules set:
1) The Way, with setting-specific guidelines.
2) Magic, with rules specifically tailored for the setting.
2) Heroic Action, including Heroic Movement and Bannermen.
I am NOT looking for the following:
* Traditional fantasy, even modernized (elves, etc.)
* Traditional dark fantasy/horror creatures such as vampires and werewolves (but the dark fantasy and horror genres are welcome).
* Direct homage to a particular genre such as pulp or Hong Kong action cinema (but indirect allusions and influence are welcome).
* Offers to work for free or at a reduced rate to undercut other applicants. These tactics indicate to me how little you value your own creative output.
Payment will be CAN$0.03 per word based on a draft of 10,000 words (minimum -- you can go over, but this won't earn you more money). This will be a challenging assignment, aiming at clear but densely informative text that inspires play and campaign planning.
I will assess proposals based on summaries of up to 300 words and RPG writing experience. Send them as *inline* text (not as an attachment) in an email with the subject heading: Mob United Media: Advanced Quick20 Setting Proposal. Email them to m@mobunited.com .
Submissions do not create any relationship or obligation between Mob United Media and the submitter. Only those considered for contract will be contacted.
