Oh, that moment where I confirmed a critical on you I was about to write an "damn, I didn't 'want' to kill you all. I honestly thought that with the five of us we could take him" speach. Then I rolled snake eyes, looked at the set of dice I was using, and then confirmed that they were from my lucky gencon bag.

The oil and wand have to be properly identified obviously, and read magic needs to be applied to the scrolls, but after that I'm fairly certain your friends won't complain. We've got two rapier users though, and a mithral chain shirt is a fairly valuable item to anyone.

Sorry about all the OOC stuff right now, if that bothers anyone.

Detecting the lie for what it is, Gregorian smiles to the man, "You don't need to lie to me. If you have no desire to use your items on the ogre, well, it is your 'potion'. I was just wondering why?" gregorian, still smiling a friendly smile continues, "Though it would have been nice to know about the drow in advance, for it sounds to me like you already knew of him. These things confuse me, and I don't like being confused. Could you please let me in on your little secret, why you trully wanted them (Gregorian means the other adventures, and it's plain in his words that he does not necessarily include himself in their numbers) to come down here and perhaps I can find a way to trully help you!"

(The studded leather from the drow was NOT masterwork)

"Listen, I'll pay you to shut up and leave my private business transactions to me. I have no potion for the Ogre, he's a good as dead by now, it's been a while yet. I had intended to pay any 'legitimate' hired help for this operation. Those machines represent a legitimate threat to my research, and the only real way to deactivate them is to destroy their signalling mechanism where that drow mage was doing his research. I couldn't confront him, as we already made a sound exchange of knowledge in order to insure my safety. I can't afford to break my treatise, that's why I had to get help. I didn't expect people to find their way here without my nephew's guidance. Not many people know these ruins exist, let alone a single entrance to the main works."

"The rest of your friends should, in fact, be dealt with by now. Even without his bodyguards, that mage is favored of a powerful cleric and has some of her finest spells available to himself. He's not some false braggert like myself or many others. That ogre is a kindly beast, but he has something against honest business and research so he died. If we had only delayed a few more minutes, it looks like the Drow was leaving. If he did not see us, you can help me by going to deactivate the device. All you need to do is cut and maim some of the base of the thing, and the machines should stop since they will have no direction. I'm going to head back to Allimon, in this you CAN trust me. I've discovered something amazing about these mechanations, and like no fool I've stored all the information to memory alone. I can and will pay you if you can show me proof of your deactivating the device. I'll pay you five times the sum of my initial tribute. That's five thousand coins. No questions asked, but you MUST let me go RIGHT NOW!"

Showing a remarkable amount of backbone Shariff looks right at the human and says, No. He gets up from tending to his ferrit and walks right up to scientist and folds his arms over his chest. No you will not be leaving. You have lied to us from the start. Most likely you are lieing to us now. We almost all died just a minute ago. Poor kindly Jef is dead most likely. We are not equiped to fight this menace either physicaly or magicaly at this point. I say you take your research and shove it so far up your very nasty halfling word that you see the truth. You pathetic excuse for a humanoid.

OC:Well, I'm not in any shape to argue or petition, but the Mithril Shirt is what I'd most like. I don't think that anyone has enough cash (including the money from Sullivan)to claim it as their share, however, unless we take the 5,000 that he is offering.

Gregorain smiles sincerly. "Payment first, then the device."

Gregorian was confident in dealing with this business man, for he himself was no stranger to transaction, and had once talked an ogre from his oun weapon... that may have been a dream, but it WAS a sweet dream.

Your not there. Sullivan is only with Gregorian, at least 200 feet away from the group, and can't see you. This conversation "technically" is taking place while you are fighting.

Sullivan says, "I'm not so foolish. I'm leaving, and I expect you to either follow through and recieve payment, or go dig yourself a grave with your friends. If you choose neither, I care not. I'm returning to the academy with my notes."

Sullivan turns his back and begins to run towards the exit of the cavern...
