(Adventure) Immortality Awakens (Knight Otu Judging) Part II

Tandi looks at Cade and smiles. "Well, usually we have palanquins and elephants to carry us around, or barring that, slaves." She winks to let him know she is joking. "Travelling at night is impractical, but not a bad idea. At best, it will allow us to conserve water better, which is always best in the desert. If we must travel during the day, then in the early morning or late afternoon is best." She pauses to let that sink in before continuing, speaking loudly enough so that all can hear. "If you do not have head coverings already, I would suggest them. They are good for many things, but mostly so you don't lose water from your head."

My actual knowledge of desert survival comes from vague memories of military training as well as some book knowledge. I'm not an expert mind you though.

Also, before I forget, Tandi will be even more speechless from Sunday to Thursday of next week, as I will be at my yearly Wu Shu camp on those days. Suffice it to say that Tandi will share her knowledge of the desert when asked, but only then.

ooc: How much are camels? Can we afford camels for everyone and enough food, given we have a smidge over 700gp? And, how much would we have left over?

(OOC: I found a site that placed the horses at the same price as per SRD and put camels at 50, so camels would be 75 each after 1.5x

So 5x75 = 375

That leaves enough to pay for enough food to last the entire party a few months)

ooc: Do we know where we're going in the desert? I don't remember how much we were told.

(OOC: Nope--you only know the direction you're going, not the exact distance. Of course, if you pack enough to get all the way to that fire city right by the Fire Pillar, you can't go wrong, since it will either be before that city or you can try to restock there)

ooc: It's probably also a safe bet that getting more rations there will be more expensive. ;)
