(Adventure) Immortality Awakens (Knight Otu Judging) Part II

(OOC: Yup, you've got it right. The worst Dexterity in the party is apparently 14, and nobody else has a worse ACP than -2 except Scun (Anton has -2 ACP but ranks in Hide and Krug has -1 ACP but ranks in Hide and everyone else has 0 ACP) :D)

*The group continues until they reach a branching point in the cavern, but Anton is easily able to tell that there are plenty of dragon tracks along the left path, while the right path does not have any he can see.*

*Heading left, the group continues forward, with Rillian and Anton in the lead. The tunnel through the mountain begins to widen into a small cavern filled with various mushrooms, some of them quite large. Nobody in the group recognises anything interesting about the mushrooms except Anton, who due to his training with flora of the wild and study of all of the plants and fungi that Halina brings forth from the earth, recognises two varieties of mushroom among the bunch that can be quite deleterious for the group, for different reasons. The first type is the Shrieker, which releases a loud, high-pitched shriek whenever someone passes it, which would surely alert the dragon to the group's presence. The other is the rarer Dream Fungus, which, in addition to being prised for its hallucinogenic properties when ingested, produces spores to cause those around them to fall into a deep slumber...Well, all except dragons of course, who are immune to sleep. So the dragon, alerted to a new meal by the Shriekers, could come and pick up the sleeping victims at its leisure--quite a neat trick for a little dragon to find victims for its appetite.*

(OOC: Go go Knowledge(Nature) 27!)

ooc: is there no clear way around the mushrooms? What is the area the spores affect? (ie, how far should one be to steer clear?)

"What if we lay a trap? One of us could pretend to be slept by the mushroom, while the others hide, and activate the shriekers. When the dragon comes to investigate, we could attack."

(OOC: Small patches of the Dream Fungus are only dangerous if you move in their square. Most of the patches here can affect people adjacent to them, and some of them affect targets up to ten feet away. There is currently no clear path through the fungi)

Tandi makes her way quietly over to Rillian and whispers. "No disrespect to your thoughtful plan, but the danger in it is whoever is the bait could actually fall victim to these mushrooms and we would not be able to help them in time." She stops to think.

"Maybe if we prepare an ambush and activate the mushrooms from a distance.", she says.

Thurgan Hammer, Dwarven Crafter

Thurgan looked around the cavern with the fungus, then muttered quietly, "Not a good spot fer combat, not at all."

Scun creeps forward, nearer the group, and suggests quietly, "Maybe we should investigate the other passage first. It might make a loop and come in a different side of the lair."
