In what seems like only a matter of a few additional seconds, the invaders rush in, moving at full speed toward the docks. Howls of bloodthirsty anticipation can be heard coming from just below decks of the ships as the invaders prepare to lay waste to the town. Hordes of frothy-mouthed humanoids rush to the decks of their ships, preparing to charge right off of the prow of their ships and onto the docks, weapons raised high in the air in frightening displays of ferocity....that is until the ships run full throttle into Ilex's rope trap! Slamming into the underwater barrier, the surfaced occupants are flung onto their faces as they carry the momentum that the ships USED to have! The adventurer's can hear the ropes strain under the stress of over 900,000 pounds of boat and frantic speed threatening to break the lines, and boomer lets out a defiant guffaw when he sees the warriors on board the ships fall over like bowling pins. Suddenly, the strain on the eastern portion of the ropes is too much for it to handle, and the knots slip loose, allowing one of the three ships to slide forward, hitting the shore line with minimal force. Freed of their bondage and now able to reach land, a group of bladeling warriors on board dash forward, leaping from the deck of the ship onto land, weapons at the ready and eyes crazy with blood lust. With a savage shriek the small spiny warriors fling a hail of javelin's at their closest foes. In their excitement, all but one of the bladelings' throws go well wide of their targets. However, one javelin flies true, piercing the furry shoulder of one Ursa Major. The owl bear howls in pain, looking at its master to either comfort it, or give it the command to attack. At the site of blood, all of the psycho little humanoid pincushions jump up and down, frothing at the mouth all the more and shouting a disturbing little rhyme: "Blood and gore, all for Kror! Blood and gore, all for Kror! Take a head! Take a limb! Do it now or else you'll swim!" [sblock=Actions and Initiative] All 3 ships move in, hitting the ropes. I set the DC for the ropes to 19 (15 for the thievery check +2 for Ilex's assitance, and +2 just cause I thought it was a kick-ass idea and wanted to see it have a good chance of succeeding!). Ship Strength Checks vs Ropes: 1d20+7 vs DC 19 Ship 1: 15 Ship 2: 16 Ship 3: 26 There is no surprise round because all parties are aware of each other.
