All you find on your way back to the furnace are empty rooms. On occasion you get the feeling that something's following you, but you never see anything. Soon you return to where Riann and the wounded man wait. Maerek hurries over to the furnace and begins preparations. "So, you are the ones poking around my workshop," The voice is deep, but slightly grating. It sounds like it's coming from all around you, but if the speaker's in the room he's well hidden. "No matter, all are welcome here. I apologize for any inconvenience my creations have caused. I hope none of you were irreparably damaged. Although, in my experience few things are beyond fixing." Maerek looks up when he hears the voice, his face grim. "That's Thurven. Riann, can you help me with this?" he asks, gesturing at the furnace. "I think we might have visitors soon." Riann nods and begins to assist. "Is that...? Really, Maerek, can you not see the potential of what I have done? Can all you think to do is destroy my work? How... disappointing." Maerek looks as though he's about to reply, but then he shakes his head and continues to work. "Very well. And the rest of you? Will you not accept the gifts that I offer? Trust me, I can improve your fragile forms a thousand times over. The strength of metal, combined with the adaptability of flesh.
