[sblock=OOC]In the interest of moving things along, I will post the next encounter (skills challenge). Please continue your in-game dialog as we go through the encounter. I want to encourage in-character roll playing, be it dialog, internal monologue, or just color text. You all have been doing a good job so far, and I'm exploring ways to incentivize this, but for the time being you'll have to do it out of the kindness in your heart.[/sblock] While the other adventurers were interested in the new arrival, Kane took the opportunity to pick the bodies. He found mostly well-worn tools of the humans who had previously worked here. Some of the implements were sharp, but could be used only as an improvised weapon at best. [sblock=renau1g]In addition to the junk, Kane finds 55 SP among the fallen. Whether he shares this information, or the coin, with his fellow adventurers remains to be seen. [/sblock][sblock=Passive Perception DC15] You notice that Kane has pocketed some items looted from the fallen enemies. [/sblock]Will unties Stanng, and the shifter quickly gathers his equipment. The adventurers traveled on, and soon after found what remained the main camp: charred buildings and dead bodies. Carrion birds picked at the human remains, undisturbed by the approaching adventurers. Ahead, they meet the gaze of the wounded Kobolds who escaped their last encounter. Outside attack range, the injured creatures darted North in the woods, fearing reprisal. The adventurers follow, entering the thick woods, getting a look at the mountain ahead before reaching the treeline. [sblock=Encounter #4] Encounter 3 was a traps encounter which I scrubbed. I am keeping the original numbers so I don't confuse myself. Skill Challenge Setup: Players follow the wounded creatures into the forest, trying to catch them, while avoiding any kobold traps. The trek is long and mostly uphill as they approach the mountain. Complexity: 2 (requires 6 successes before 3 failures) DC: 14 (secondary Skills 18) Primary Skills: Nature, Perception, Stealth, Endurance Rules: - Each character gets 1 roll per turn - Each character can only use a single primary skill once. For example: If Hergunna uses Nature this round, she cannot use nature again. But everyone else could still use Nature this or any subsequent round once. As stated in DMG1, the same single-use rule applies to secondary skills. A little harder than last time. Good Luck. [/sblock]
