[sblock=whoa whoa whoa]Well this is what I get for not checking the boards yesterday! :) Ok, I have to admit: I'm confused. I'm especially confused about the actions that have occurred; I'm not sure why 16 and Jarren didn't get to go - especially as Talkrai and Ryda did - and I'm not sure how the enemies reacted so fast to our clandestine plans. First, 16 has been ready to spring at that gnome since he came down here. he's been extremely careful to be within 1 movement of him this whole time; he's discussed these plans telepathically with the rest of the group; he's just been waiting on the opportunity and the opportunity came when the gnome was alone and the other guy came forward. (I even wrote his dialog like two weeks ago! But that's because I'm a nerd. :P) Technically, 16 would have started running before the worker even got killed, but that was a point I didn't press because I figured that would be a little too much ret-conning. But he has been waiting for just such a moment! Second, I thought Talkrai and Ryda were going to act when 16 acted? I could be wrong about that. Third, some folks had readied actions - although honestly everyone was ready to go - but I am still a bit confused as to why the enemies were able to react to our actions before we really even got started, initiative or no. In particular, I have to call shenanigans on Jasper's death: the gnome had a readied action that was triggered specifically on Jasper being teleported away? I just don't see how he could have foreseen that: that was a great move! And if he did foresee that somehow, then I think Talkrai should be allowed to just retcon and heal the guy instead of moving him, since that would be the most effective action and she wasn't aware that even 6 damage would make him completely dead. Oh, and how again was the gnome able to take a standard action and then two move actions? Maybe I missed something. Anyway I will read back through everything again but I'd honestly like to go back and go through step-by-step what happened, if folks don't mind. Normally I wouldn't sweat it but we have a major NPC death and the bad guy unable to be captured despite our best-laid, telepathically communicated plans and it just doesn't seem like we could have messed up that badly with this much prep.[/sblock]
