OOC: Pac, do I think I have any chance of getting hellspawn-thingies to surrender, or at least run away, with an intimidate check? The dog and both thralls are bloodied, so now seems like a good time.

In her rush to effect a deathblow on the thrall, Jezebel nearly cracks herself with her own whip. Regardless, she has made her challenge. If the thrall doesn't meet it, the Oni spirits will take care of the rest. She waves goodbye to the hellspawn and then turns, abandoning the rear position and charging for the front line. She finds herself standing on top of a different thrall's corpse at the head of the party.

Cyr looks carefuly for the Hektesh and then produces his radiant rays that fly across the battlefield, but do little more then illuminate combatants in start relief.

OOC: So, only one target + Hektesh? missed anyhow, thanks for heads up Luinnar, indeed I will not use The Memory if I don't have to now that I announced it. I can save the result (1) for the time I use it.
 

The injured hound snaps its jaws at Sir Exsixten as the mechanical knight hurtles over the canal to land next to it. But, the badly injured creature botches the attack badly, putting weight on its injured leg causing it to topple to the floor, and just as its head hits the ground a gout of flames engulfs it, the last remaining tendril, and the mechanical knight. Alnar's attack leaves the mechanical knight looking a little singed, but completely burns the tendril out of existence, and where the hound was you see a charred husk on the floor that looks only vaguely hound-like. The darkness in the air clears as the hound's life is burned away, and the remaining thralls recoil from the brightness of Alnar's sunrod.

Seizing on this opportunity, the wraith glides forward and lances its spectral fingers straight through one of the thralls' empty eyesockets, causing the diminutive fanatic to convulse briefly before dropping dead on the floor.

The final thrall charges forward with a wild yell, heedless of the sanction of Jezebel's dark gods, and slashes Sir Exsixten just before it is stricken down by unholy wrath.

As the last of his minions goes down, Cyr hears Hekthesh curse softly under his breath, but can't make out what he said, as his soft, but rapid footfalls can be heard retreating down a corridor to the west.

At the same time, the volume of Dhakanmirr's droning chant builds in an ominous crescendo. We must hurry!, the wraith urges, The defilers must not be allowed to destroy the great totem. The Enemy's return would undo that which my people gave their lives for!
