Tirial's muscles ache mightily as she manages to keep her feet after the fall. Seeing the movement in the water, the ranger reacts quickly, "We've got company" she warns as a pair of arrows streak towards the lead foe, one of them glancing off it and streaking towards the middle foe. Her first arrow hits solidly, but the creature hardly notices. Her second arrow bounces off the rubbery-like hides of both creatures. [sblock=Tirial] These are otyughs. They are beasts with long tentacle attacks used to drag unfortunate creatures to them. They also have a severe bite that causes disease. Some intelligent monsters capture otyughs and use them as guardians, but otyughs are best used as living garbage disposals. Otyughs often infest the sewer systems of large cities, lurking in the darkest and most stagnant portions. Otyughs usually attack creatures that wander too near their filthy larders, even if they're not particularly hungry. They rarely devour the carcasses of slain creatures immediately, preferring to let them rot first. [/sblock] "That man is dead!" tell Artemus to himself. With all his anger, he throws his dagger at one the monster before feeling it reappearing in his hand. His dagger merely bounces off the creature. The first creature moves in to attack Hasifar and Boruuk tries to intercept it. This is a large creature with long nasty looking tentacles with spiked hooks in them to capture prey and a large gaping teeth filled hole for a mouth. But Borruk's charge is too slow, he cannot reach the creature in time. The creature continues its long range tentacle attack against Hasifar. However, Hasifar ducks under the wild swing. The second creature sees the slow moving Boruuk and decides to steal that prize from the first creature. It grabs Boruuk and pulls him in close. The third creature ignores the first two and grabs Artemus and pulls him in. Boruuk and Artemus quickly notice that the stench from these creatures is causing their eyes to water and their attacks seem more erratic. They both also notice how strong these creatures are. [sblock= OOC] Tirial hits Otyugh 1 for 10 with the first attack, misses both times with the second. Artemus misses. Boruuk charges, but doesn't get close enough due to difficult terrain. Otyugh 1 misses Hasifar. Otyugh 2 hits Boruuk for 10 and grabs and pulls him. Otyugh 3 hits Artemus for 13 and grabs and pulls him. Tirial 16/45, bloodied Artemus 16/39, bloodied, grabbed, -2 to attacks while in aura 1 stench Boruuk 26/51, grabbed, -2 to attacks while in aura 1 stench Otyugh 1 10, marked Otyugh 2 Otyugh 3 Hasifar 20/41, bloodied Knoepf 21/40, prone The entire floor is difficult terrain due to water, potholes, and slippery slime. Normal light currently consists of the 5 squares within Knoepf's location. Low light vision is 5 squares beyond that. It's Hasifar's turn. [/sblock]
