Hello all,

I´m looking for some good advices in creating an adventure.
This adventure should take place on the Moonshae Isles in the FR´s.
Has anyone ever played or DMed an adventure there?
Are there special things I should take care about?
Please tell me yout experience with the Moonshae´s!!

Thank you all!

I ran the Moonshae's for 6 months in my 6 year game. VERY nice place to run a game.

I strongly suggest a Celtic/Scottish type of feel. Treat O'Rourke and his men as a Robin Hood type of group.
Druids are VERY protective of their Moonwells.

Being an island chain, fishing is very popular. High mountains, verdant valleys. Look at as many real photo's of Scotland, Wales, New Zealand and the like as you can, to get a feel for the look of the place.

Try to get the 2E FR suppliment: Moonshae. It's the best source of info you can get on the isles, with a few hooks in it as well.

Hope I pointed you in a good direction.

I agree with Adlon. I have the Moonshaes feel very "Celtic" to my players, and it helps make it seem like a unique land to them (as opposed to "just another place in the FR"). And yes, getting FR2 Moonshae will help you out as well (though it's not the best designed supplement in terms of utility). There is also a 2e module that takes place in the Moonshaes: FA1 Halls of the High King. It's a pretty good adventure, IMO.

As well, I've put many of Willie Walsh's older (2e) adventures published in Dungeon magazine in the Moonshaes, as it fits the Celtic feel that I've cultivated there.

Again, I second everything Adlon wrote above.

The 1e and 2e supplements can be gotten as pdfs at www.rpgnow.com or at svgames.com for $5 each if you want them.

Lots of forests and outside stuff in the moonshaes, so that is the angle I'd run it. Give something for the rangers, druids and eath mother clerics to do outside.
