Adventure Path end levels

I've started running the Shadow in the Sky adventure path and it seems quite good, although it's a little too roleplay heavy for my party of newbies.

There was a green ronin podcast with Eric Mona, right about the time 4e was announced at GenCon, and he talked about one of the early adventure paths out of Dragon and that they would consider ending them at lower levels in the future.

Post-AP suggestions mean going further with the same characters. Otherwise you'd just use low level adventures.

I'd like to play through an AP into Epic at some point. Never have. :(

Anyone tried squeezing an entire AP into 10 levels or less (ie. by leveling down the monsters) ?

I'm not playing PF at the moment, but I usually stopped around level 10 back when I use to DM 3.5E D&D.

Council of Thieves (the first Pathfinder RPG rules AP) caps out at level 13. Probably your best bet if you really want to shrink the levels on an AP.

That sounds like a lot of work. You'd be re-inventing a lot of the monsters in use, mind you, as they make original creations for the APs. Some of the later encounters, I believe, also assume high-level tactics.

Someone mentioned Council of Thieves (I think) stopped around level 11.

I don't know if you'd mind seriously increasing their magic item count and power. If they have +5 weapons, a lower level party could do more damage to higher level foes. The challenge would be saving throws and resistances, but items would help for that. Also scrolls of basic protections, then let them concentrate on different spells.
