Adventure publishing question

I'm interested in publishing a D&D adventure in PDF form.
This would be my first solo publication for an RPG game.
This adventure would have no new feats, monsters or mechanics. It wouldn't have any new monsters or Prestige Classes.
It will use d20 D&D OGL magic items, monsters and skills.
I want to protect the text of my adventure from being swiped. Do I make it closed content? Can I make it closed content?
Can it get the d20 license/logo?
If I understand correctly from the RPGnow's e-Publishing Guide, I need to make at least 5% of my content open to qualify for the d20 logo. What if I'm not presenting anything new other than the text of my adventure?
Can character stats be open or closed content?
Thanks ahead of time for the help!

Get hold of the d20 system license and system guide, and the Open Game License from www.wizards.com/d20. And read them. As most legal documents are, they make horrid reading, but if you go through them carefully you should get most of what they say.

In answer to your qs:

You can make sections of description and sections that contain any product identity that you own closed content, and protect them. As for game mechanics, all stats (incuding character stats), and items of text pointing to the rules, need to be declared open content. Sorry, but that's the way it works.

Yes, as long as you have your 5% open content (at least), you can stick a d20 logo on it. This gives you the right to use the Dungeons & Dragons, d20 system etc... trademarks.

Open content is any content that quotes the D&D rules, or that utilises them, so trust me, you will have at leat 5% OGC in your adventure. As I said above, stats = open content.

Hope this helps,

James.
