[Adventure] The Cannith Caper (Judge: THB)

The group rests in the comfortable environment as the lightning rail moves out of the Sharn station, past the First Tower and through the King's Forest. After a few hours you pass out of the forested area and the plains stream by in a blur. You stop in Wroat station, the capital of Breland and although not on the same level of Sharn, the station is still a beehive of activity.

After leaving Wroat, you pass the Bear's Wood and then it's a straight shot across the wide open plains to your destination, Starilaskur.

Night comes and goes, the soft light from the activating stones can easily be blocked by drawn curtains. Attendants come in every couple of hours or so to clean up and bring fresh food and drink, if desired. The sun rises and when it hits its zenith you pull into the Starilaskur station.

You'll exit the station in the Candlemarket, a middle class neighbourhood just outside the rail station. The young lad from earlier informs you that there's an inn that would cater to your exquisite tastes called "The Land's End Inn"

Rook gathers up his pack, joining the party outside. He is relaxed, having enjoyed a restful ride to Starilaskur.

"Land's End? What do you fellows think? I'm sure it's an... exquisite place but is it in our budget?"

The gith nods at Rooks observation. "Not only is it not in our budget, but it is also mid-day. We have had plenty of time to rest, so I suggest that we either find a library that would have information on the creatures that inhabit the mountains near here, or perhaps we can find some knowledgeable guide that could give us that information from fist hand experiences."

Harressh looks around at the buildings and passers-by. "Library is good," he says. "Maybe we should also just ask around. We should look for a place to buy horses, too."

[sblock=ooc]Harressh has Charisma, but only Intimidate trained. Anyone want to take the lead on streetwise or diplomacy? Harressh can help with that.

Streetwise aid-another (1d20+7=10) (Same bonus for Diplomacy if that is chosen instead)

Wow, just barely made it! :D[/sblock]

"I can ask around about guides and the surrounding terrain, it's been a while but I passed through this city once so I'll see what I can find. Is everyone else going to the library then or is another group going to see what mounts they can find? May I suggest our fearless leader." Rook grins, finishing his statement. "Seeing as how he obviously understands the relationship between rider and mount..."

Rook crosses his arms and leans agains the front of a nearby building while he waits for his companions to make up their collective mind.

Haltor eyes Rook after his comment. If there is a problem between you and I, young-one, it is best you let it be known now before it festers. For while what you say makes sense, how you say it indicates something different.

"Yes, a library, that sounds like the best way to locate what we need, although I'm not sure all of us would do well there, perhaps some of us could head over to the tavern and see if they can locate a person with firsthand knowledge?" Alex suggests

We can try and split up? The ones who are good with people can go ask around and some of us who are more...knowledgeable can try and look up the books?[/sblock]

Varak is quick to exit the train, as the continuous motion started to make him nauseous. "I'll go with Haltor to find us horses." The half orc is breathing slowly and deeply, trying to keep his lunch down.

"Bah! I ain't going in no library to spend time nosing through books, I'll come with you Varak. I'm pretty good at reading people, so if any of them are trying to feed you some bullsh** I'll catch'em I'm sure" Kirska says, hoping off the train and joining the others.

[sblock=OOC]Haltor, Kriska, & Varak for horses, Rook to find a guide/rumors, the rest in the library? I'm fine w/ that. Haltor just has to settle up with Rook's tone first.[/sblock]
