[Adventure] The Cannith Caper (Judge: THB)

Harressh laughs at the apparitions attempt to hurt him. His eyes blaze again and the ghostly creature is smitten by radiant energy.

"Come back!" Varis and the wind howl at Heastus, forcing him back into the reach of Varis' allies.

Now that he is in range, Gark reaches with his weapon and strikes Haestus true, right in the gut. He drags him down to the ground and deposits him between his allies. "Do I need to giftwrap your present as well?" Gark says with a half-smile to Halter, encouraging him to act.

Gark takes a sly step back away from the railing, preparing for his next move.

Halter mounts White-Eye once more, calling to Varak to bolster him.
Haltor's weapon bites into the wraith, as it does an explosion of flames erupts from the wound, which now leaks liquid darkness. Haltor & Varak find themselves surrounded by flames.

[sblock=Features of Area]

Illumination: Bright light from the molten metal.

Rails: The catwalk and balconies have rails, which give any creature forced over an edge a +2 bonus to the saving throw to avoid falling.

Safety Mesh: The safety mesh is inches above a sea of molten metal. A creature that starts its turn on the mesh takes 5 fire damage. When you start your turn on the mesh, you take 5 fire damage. It's a DC 15 athletics check to climb, so it'd be a double move to climb, provided you make 2 successful checks.

Right - and I am bloodied at 24. So I should regen 2 - correct?

Also I notice that the boss went from not-bloodied to bloodied; who gets 4 temp HP?

I assume the map will be forthcoming? :) Once we see the map I'll let you know about the slide.[/sblock]

[SBLOCK=ooc]
OK, bad news. Computer HD crashed at work. Lost my Maptools files as they're not backed up due to corporate policy...the battle was pretty close to complete anyways, so let's say Haestus laughed maniacally and retreated away down through the floor (he has phasing). Gotta think of an exit strategy for Varis and Varak, and an entrance for the newcomers... maybe some wild magic or something? [/sblock]

"And... take that!" Gark yells limply as Haestus phases through the floor and out of sight. As his teeth and nails regain their normal shape and his features become less bestial, he adds, "Well, let's get everyone together and away from that ledge!"

[sblock=ooc]Short rest?

If so, Gark will use 2 healing surges to return to full, making his surge total 4. Also, it's been so long I can't remember: was that a milestone? If not, can it be, since the new people will be coming in fresh? I'm good with whatever, just wanted to clarify.[/sblock]

Haltor breathes heavily a moment as the "fire" dissipates around him. His age is showing again. He looks up wearily a moment, then pulls himself together. Let us be done with this.[sblock=OOC]Haltor Inspires himself once, 1 HS, & White-Eye spends her 1 HS.

"Maybe we should at least take a short rest...." Varis says, looking at the beaten up Gark.

[sblock=ooc]

short rest to regain encounters sounds fine. Will play song of rest if anyone is interested.

Will you post something in the tavern before switching characters.

The group is resting, Haltor administering to White-Eye, Gark catching his breath, and Varak, Varis and Harresh gathered closely discussing their situation.

Suddenly, a burst of blinding white light appears and Haltor and Gark must shield their eyes. When it dims down the trio are gone! Amazingly, in their place stand a motley group of well-armed humanoids.

[sblock=ooc]
Ok, Varis, Varak and Harresh are officially "out" as of 12/3. Newcomers start on 12/3. I'll allow them to describe their PC's and RP out your reactions... [/sblock]

A stout dwarf wearing darkened leather armor with metal studs and holding a craghammer appears through the portal. His eyes go wide when he sees the armed shifter, raptor and halfling

"Oye! I fething told ye it was a trap!"

He holds his craghammer, which glows a soft golden light, up in a defensive position.

Deimos Vrago, Tiefling Wizard (Mage)

Next to the dwarf appears a handsome light red-skinned tiefling with black hair and horns. He wears a nondescript reddish robe and a yellow cloak. On his back is a backpack and nearly always in his hand is a black staff, topped with what looks like a frozen flame, illuminating the surrounding.

"I'm not so sure, Braddock. They look more surprised than anticipating.

Hello, my name is Deimos."
Deimos says.
